Renault Group and John Cockerill unveil Forefront Concept, a teleoperated ground drone
In a press release published on November 3, 2026, Renault Group presented, together with John Cockerill, Forefront Concept, a versatile teleoperated ground platform. The project takes the form of a concept, which the two groups describe as an approach to ground drones intended for “the most demanding missions”.
Forefront Concept is designed to carry out missions remotely in high-risk or hard-to-access areas. According to the press release, the platform “paves the way for new intervention capabilities in both defense and civilian fields”.
The vehicle is presented as modular, “rapidly industrializable and with controlled costs”. The two partners highlight its mobility and obstacle-crossing capabilities, as well as its ability to “operate autonomously in complex terrain”.
