Safran enters the capital of Akira, specialist in propulsion technologies
The aerospace and defense group announced a stake acquisition through its investment subsidiary Safran Corporate Ventures, joining a funding round already composed of defense actors and public financing entities.
The operation concerns Akira, a company specialized in the development and prototyping of propulsion technologies.
Safran, through Safran Corporate Ventures, its subsidiary dedicated to innovative investments, acquired a minority stake in Akira's capital as part of the company's latest funding round.
Akira is presented as an expert in the development and prototyping of propulsion technologies. Through this operation, Safran joins MBDA as well as the Definvest fund of the General Directorate of Armaments (DGA), managed by Bpifrance, already present in the capital.
