Société Générale unveils its strategic plan through 2029, focused on cost management and growth
During the presentation of its strategic plan, the bank detailed its guidance for the period through 2029, centered on cost control, selective growth and risk management.
The board of directors, meeting under the chairmanship of William Connelly on September 18, 2026, approved this plan and the associated financial targets.
Société Générale presented its strategic roadmap for 2029, which it describes as a new phase following the transformation initiated in 2023. The group highlights a simplified model, an improved risk profile and increased discipline in capital allocation.
The plan is built on four priorities: continued reduction of the cost base, acceleration of a disciplined growth approach, deepening the transformation of business lines and maintaining rigorous risk management.
The group indicates it intends to leverage simplification, operational efficiency and technological transformation levers, as well as the gradual deployment of artificial intelligence.
