Vinci Construction Acquires Canadian Firm Modern Group of Companies
Vinci Construction announced on Monday the acquisition of Modern Group of Companies, a Canadian company founded in 1945 and based in the Moncton region of New Brunswick. This move allows the French group to strengthen its territorial network in Eastern Canada, where it already generates a revenue of 2.0 billion euros.
An Acquisition Complementary to Existing Activities
Modern Group of Companies recorded a revenue of approximately 50 million euros (80 million Canadian dollars) in 2025 and employs 160 staff members. The company primarily operates in roadworks and civil engineering, while also managing the entire production chain through the operation of two aggregate quarries and the manufacturing of asphalt mixes. This acquisition follows the inclusion of Northern Construction into Vinci Construction's portfolio in 2022. Both companies share similar expertise (roadworks, aggregate production, and asphalt) and operate in adjacent regions (New Brunswick and Nova Scotia), creating significant operational and geographical synergies.
Vinci Construction Consolidates Its Canadian Base
In 2025, the Vinci group generated a revenue of 2.0 billion euros in Canada, of which 1.6 billion was attributed to Vinci Construction and 0.3 billion to Vinci Energies. Canada represents a strategic market for the group, which benefits from a favorable environment for growth in the infrastructure sector.
