Vinci share breaks below its 108.50 € support level and deepens losses
Vinci continues its decline on Wednesday, intensifying a pullback that has been well established since the beginning of summer. The stock is now clearly trading below its key support level, in a CAC 40 that is also declining during the session.
Breaking through the 108.50 € support confirms underlying downward pressure
Vinci is down 1.57% at 106.80 € during the session, after breaking through its 108.50 € support level during the day without recovering it. This downside breakthrough is significant: this level had up to now served as a floor for several weeks, and its loss opens an additional gap from the three reference moving averages. The price is now 4.44% below the 20-day MA at 111.76 € and 8.76% below the 50-day MA at 117.05 €, while the 200-day MA at 124.35 € stands 14.11% above.
The RSI at 35 reflects a configuration of persistent weakness, without yet reaching outright oversold territory, suggesting that selling pressure remains structured rather than exhausted. Over the quarter, the stock has posted a decline of 15.81%, one of the heaviest in the CAC 40 over this period among major French equities.
Deteriorating construction environment and solid guidance fail to arrest the decline
The environment in which the group operates is not without impact on its stock market dynamics. The construction sector conditions in France remain difficult in autumn 2026: the construction climate stands at -17.2 points, residential building permits are down 9.5% year-over-year and public works activity is declining 7.6% over three months according to Eurostat and FNTP data. These figures weigh on short-term visibility for construction businesses, even though Vinci remains highly diversified across concessions, energy and construction.
During the publication of first-half 2026 results on July 29, the group had nonetheless displayed a confident tone, targeting renewed growth in revenue, operating results and a free cash flow that could reach 6 billion euros. Furthermore, the 250 million euro share buyback program announced in late August was approximately 65% executed by September 22, which provides technical support to the stock without however reversing the trend. Comparable sector peers are experiencing the same movement: Eiffage is down 1.90% and Bouygues 1.81% during the session, in a Paris market that is also declining 0.56%.
