Abivax among the best performers in the SBF 120, after a 24% drop over the quarter
The Paris-based biotech specialising in inflammatory diseases is rebounding markedly at midday, within a slightly higher SBF 120. This move places it back in the upper part of the index ranking, after a very difficult quarter.
A stock that moves back above its MA20 but remains below its two other moving averages
Abivax shares gain 3.96% to €82.70, above their MA20 (€79.83, a gap of +3.60%) but below their MA50 (€86.38) and MA200 (€98.50), the latter at 16% from the share price.
The rebound follows a 23.92% decline over three months, which the gain over the week (+2.42%) only partly offsets.
With +3.96%, the stock ranks among the strongest gainers in the SBF 120, which is up 0.53% at the same time. The RSI at 51 is neutral, and the MACD, still negative, sees its histogram move back into positive territory. As a reminder, the stock already figured among the best performers of the SBF 120 in early November, without the underlying trend changing.
Short positions total 5.59% of the share capital, up 0.42 points in one month
According to the disclosures reviewed, five funds together hold a net short position of 5.59% of the share capital of Abivax, compared with 5.17% thirty days earlier (latest disclosure on 23 October).
Such a level indicates that institutional investors remain positioned against the stock, or are seeking to hedge an exposure held elsewhere. The monthly increase is moderate: it does not reflect a sudden acceleration of the bearish bet.
The stock is listed in both Paris and on the Nasdaq, where the ADSs trade at the same price as the ordinary share, the US market being the more liquid of the two. Intraday, resistance at €87.80 and support at €76.05 delimit the range in which the price has been trading for several weeks.
