Data centers: Haffner Energy highlights its on-site power generation model
In a text published on November 4, 2026 on the company's website, sales director Marcella Franchi relied on an analysis by Oxford Economics devoted to the local acceptance of data centers in the United States.
This is a positioning reminder: Haffner Energy presents its “Bring Your Own Power” approach (producing its own electricity) as a response to the environmental requirements now governing these projects.
A US study on the local acceptance of data centers
The cited analysis, published on October 29, 2026 by Oxford Economics under the title “US Data centers are on the ballot”, finds that local opposition to data centers diminishes when projects bring benefits to local communities or produce their own electricity. Haffner Energy states that this finding “directly aligns” with its vision.
The company lists the requirements that, in its view, the development of artificial intelligence must meet: limiting pressure on existing electricity grids, avoiding any significant increase in the cost of electricity, and preventing communities from bearing the cost of new infrastructure.
Added to these are the development of data centers aiming for carbon neutrality, water consumption reduced to a minimum, particularly for cooling, and the guarantee of “reliable, dispatchable and competitive” energy.
Biomass and cooling cogeneration at the core of the offering
According to the company, its technologies make it possible to locally produce renewable and dispatchable energy from biomass, with cooling cogeneration intended to eliminate the water consumption linked to cooling servers.
Haffner Energy believes the current debate does not call into question the pace of data center development, but rather the conditions under which that development takes place. The sales director writes that “the future belongs to digital infrastructure capable of reconciling performance, energy autonomy, social acceptability, carbon neutrality and water sobriety”.
She states that the company is “at the heart of these challenges, and capable of meeting them”. Marcella Franchi is scheduled to take part in the Data Centre Energy Summit, held in London on November 25, 2026.
