Stellantis Tops the CAC 40, but Still Down 54% Over One Year
The multi-brand carmaker posts the best performance on the Paris index, while the market declines amid a sell-off in technology stocks. The share price nonetheless remains far below its levels of a year ago.
A Modest Gain Places the Stock Ahead of the Entire CAC 40
Stellantis gains 1.31% to €4.02, while the CAC 40 falls 0.92% to 8,129.84 points, following the correction on Wall Street on Thursday and the Asian markets on Friday. The stock outperforms Essilor Luxottica (+0.91%) and Legrand (+0.78%) at the top of the index, while Capgemini closes the ranking.
Renault, the only comparable stock being tracked, rises 0.70% this Friday and is up 11.6% over one month. Stellantis remains lagging over the longer term: the stock has fallen 18.1% over three months and 54.4% over one year, which puts the scale of this session into perspective.
Its latest brief, published on November 4, already mentioned a 12% rebound in one week, a momentum that has since faded, with a decline of 4.9% over seven days.
The 20-Day Moving Average Reclaimed, the 50-Day Average Still Out of Reach
The €4.02 share price moves back above the MM20 (€3.95, a gap of 1.67%), but remains below the MM50 at €4.16, which is 3.46% higher.
The MM200, at €5.52, is very far away. The price is therefore moving within the range defined by these two averages, between support at €3.55 and resistance at €4.28.
In terms of valuation, the stock trades at around 7.6 times current-year earnings according to the consensus of the analysts surveyed, and 4.2 times next-year earnings. The next key figure to watch is resistance at €4.28, located about 6.6% above the current price.
