Technip Energies Obtains Worldwide License for SABIC's CTR Technology
The two partners have formalized an exclusive agreement entrusting Technip Energies with the commercialization and licensing of SABIC's CTR technology, dedicated to low-density polyethylene production.
This agreement is part of an industrial relationship established since 1996 between the two groups.
An Exclusive Agreement Centered on SABIC's CTR Technology
Technip Energies and SABIC have concluded an exclusive agreement concerning SABIC's CTR (Clean Tubular Reactor) technology, intended for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) production.
Under this agreement, Technip Energies will ensure commercialization and licensing on a global scale. The agreement combines SABIC's technology with Technip Energies' expertise in the polyolefins field.
A Collaboration Engaged Since 1996
Technip Energies has supported the deployment of CTR technology since 1996, contributing to the design, engineering, construction and commissioning activities of facilities.
The group indicates that it has acquired, over this period, expertise in the operation and implementation of this technology.
The Positioning Described by Technip Energies
Stéphane Mespoulhès, Senior Vice-President Ethylene and Polyolefins at Technip Energies, stated that the agreement marked "an important milestone" in the partnership with SABIC and strengthened the group's position in LDPE technology licensing.
He clarified that the offering combines SABIC's CTR technology and Technip Energies' expertise in design, equipment manufacturing and implementation of high-pressure LDPE units.
