Vinci share rebounds but remains oversold, RSI at 33
The concessions and construction group's stock is recovering on Wednesday, with the CAC 40 also trending higher. This rebound comes as Grupo Santander publishes an opinion on the value today, and the stock remains caught in a fundamental decline that has persisted for several weeks.
Grupo Santander initiates a neutral opinion with a 133 € target price on Vinci
Grupo Santander published on Wednesday, September 16, an opinion on Vinci, adopting a neutral stance with a price target of 133 €. Relative to the current price of 112.05 €, this target represents an upside potential of nearly 19 %. The Spanish bank provides no previous reference target, indicating an initiation of coverage rather than a revision. This neutral positioning, midway between buy and sell, validates neither the rebound momentum of the day nor the stock's underlying decline.
It simply reflects Santander's reading of the value at the current date. During the publication of the first half 2026 results on July 29, Vinci had announced further expected growth in its revenue, operating results, and net income attributable to the group, with free cash flow that could reach 6 billion euros. These prospects contrast with the stock market correction recorded since: the stock has declined a further 7.28 % over one month and 12.36 % over three months.
The stock rebounds at its support level, but remains below its three moving averages
During the session, the stock gains 1.31 % to 112.05 €, placing it among the strongest risers in the CAC 40. This rebound is anchored near the support level at 110.55 €, already tested on September 11 during a partial rebound in a market under pressure. The technical configuration remains constrained however: the price is trading below the MA20 at 115.07 € (gap of -2.62 %), below the MA50 at 118.71 € (gap of -5.61 %) and below the MA200 at 124.79 € (gap of -10.21 %). These three moving averages each represent thresholds that must be broken for the stock to reverse its underlying downtrend.
The RSI at 33 signals an oversold configuration, showing slight improvement compared to the level of 31 observed last week. The nearest resistance remains set at 126.80 €. In parallel, the market is watching the Fed's decision on Wednesday, expected to raise its rates for the first time in three years, which maintains pressure on financing conditions and stocks sensitive to long-term rates, of which Vinci is part.
