Viridien shares among the biggest decliners in the SBF 120, despite +9% over one month
The geoscience specialist is falling in late afternoon, on the day it publishes its quarterly results. The decline contrasts with the solid performance of the Paris market, which remained stable during the session.
A decline steeper than the SBF 120, after a month of rebound
Viridien shares fall 2.07% to €92.20, while the SBF 120 holds steady and the CAC 40 drops 0.02%. The stock ranks among the index's biggest decliners in a market lacking clear direction.
The decline partly erases the recent rebound: the stock is still up nearly 9% over one month but has lost 4.65% over the week, after breaking above its €100.20 resistance at the end of October, a level broken on October 29.
The price remains above its MM20 (+1.22%) but 13.08% below its MM200, a sign that the underlying trend still needs to be rebuilt. Third-quarter 2026 results are published today.
Short positions at 10.5% of capital, slightly down over one month
Ten funds together hold net short positions equivalent to 10.50% of capital, according to the disclosures reviewed, compared with 11.16% one month ago. The 0.66-point decline remains modest: such a cumulative level places the stock among the most exposed to bearish bets, without recent trends showing a clear unwinding of these positions.
The oil backdrop is more favorable, with Brent at $103.99 per barrel, down 0.74% today, which remains very high for a group tied to exploration spending. The stock is thus trading between support at €84.55 and resistance at €100.20, with the recent rebound and selling pressure coexisting within the session.
