L'Oréal Shares Break Key Resistance and Gain Nearly 2% at Mid-Session
The world's leading cosmetics company is fully participating in the rebound of the Paris market at mid-session. The stock continues its upward momentum from recent weeks and confirms its return above several closely watched technical benchmarks. The sectoral situation in China remains a supportive background point.
The Stock Moves Above Its Three Moving Averages and Breaks a Key Resistance
L'Oréal shares are up 1.92% at €390.65, while the CAC 40 is up 1.63% in a well-oriented Parisian market. The stock has crossed the €386.65 resistance identified so far, extending the rebound that started a month ago (+10.48% over the period). The weekly increase reaches 5.33%.
The price is now above its three main moving averages, with a gap of nearly 5% compared to the MM20 (€372.52) and MM200 (€372.31), and 6.95% compared to the MM50 (€365.25). The crossing of the MM200, already established at the beginning of June, is confirmed session after session. The RSI at 62 reflects this momentum without entering the overbought zone, while the MACD remains positive (3.84 against 2.57 for the signal line).
A Supportive Chinese Economic Context and a Social Calendar Highlighting Commitment to Employee Share Ownership
The sectoral context remains supportive: cosmetics sales in China rose by 4.7% year-on-year in April, according to NBS data, while total Chinese retail stagnated (+0.2%). For a group with significant exposure to the Chinese market, the resilience of this key segment counts. Earlier this week, the group announced the launch of its sixth employee share ownership plan, renewed annually since 2018 with a 20% discount and an employer contribution.
On the analyst side, Rothschild had raised its target to €415 at the end of May, following the crossing of the €377 resistance. The consensus opinion now incorporates this new technical level. Beyond the €386.65 breached this Friday, the stock is approaching the €400 zone, the next observable graphical benchmark in the session's horizon.
