Stellantis share breaks through 4.20 € support and marks a 5-year low
Stellantis hits a new floor on Wednesday, reaching its lowest level in five years during trading. The multi-brand manufacturer (Peugeot, Fiat, Jeep) has now accumulated a decline of nearly 50% over one year, in a CAC 40 itself slightly in the red.
A new five-year low record, the 4.20 € support broken again
Stellantis touched 4.13 € during Wednesday's session, thus beating its five-year low recorded on September 18 at 4.16 €. The stock fell 1.76% to 4.15 €, after once again breaking through its 4.20 € support level downward. This breakthrough extends an accelerating trend: the stock is down 10.76% over one month and 26.55% over the quarter, in a Paris market that is declining modestly by 0.32% during the session.
The manufacturer's ranking in the CAC 40 reflects this dynamic: 35th out of 40, but far from being the only security under pressure in Wednesday's trading session. Renault, a direct comparable in the automotive sector, is also falling 1.69%, which suggests a difficult sector-wide backdrop, even if the precise cause cannot be determined.
Analyst opinions under tension and valuations at their most compressed
Two recent analyst opinions illustrate the deterioration in the stock's perception. CIC Market Solutions maintains its "hold" opinion with a target price of 5.50 €, published Tuesday, September 22, which represents a theoretical upside potential of over 32% compared to the current price. Evercore ISI, for its part, lowered its target price from 7.00 € to 5.50 € on Monday, September 21, while adopting a "market perform" opinion. The convergence of both targets at 5.50 € signals an analyst consensus that does not anticipate an immediate rebound, but recognizes a significant gap with current prices.
In terms of valuation, according to the analyst consensus surveyed, the stock is trading at approximately 3.9 times expected earnings for the following fiscal year, a very compressed multiple that reflects persistent doubts about the group's profit trajectory. When publishing H1 2026 results (July 30, 2026), Stellantis had nevertheless highlighted a 7% increase in its Pro One division and the successful launch of the Smart Compact Van in Europe, but these elements were not sufficient to stem the pressure on the stock. The nearest technical resistance level is at 4.80 €, representing a gap of over 15% above the current price.
